New Delhi:�The Indira Gandhi International Airport , managed by Delhi International Airport (P) Limited (DIAL), a GMR led Consortium, today amid much fanfare and enthusiasm celebrated the successful completion of a decade of privatization of Delhi Airport. The celebration officially began with a cake cutting ceremony by Managing Director � DIAL Mr. Srinivas Bommidala and CEO � DIAL Mr. I Prabhakara Rao at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 of the Airport, which bagged World�s No.1 position for two consecutive years (2014 and 2015) in 25- 40 Million Passengers Per Annum category. Several other dignitaries and senior leaders of the company and the passengers in large number were present to cheer the moment. DIAL, which believes in the �Customer First� philosophy, involved all passengers as part of the celebration and as a thanks giving gesture it distributed chocolates among the fliers throughout the day. Besides, DIAL has thrown open platforms inside both the terminals for passengers to participate in a unique selfie and sling contest. The passengers can win smart phones daily and a couple �Trip to Australia� as the bumper prize. Starting today, the selfie and sling contest will continue for 10 days. In addition, DIAL has also organized exciting flash mobs and live music inside the airport for entertaining the domestic and international fliers. In a bid to give the commuters a never-before shopping experience inside the Delhi Airport terminals, there is an exciting offer of 10% discounts on several utility, beauty and luxury products as well as the food and beverages. The offer would also remain valid for three days starting today. While the fun-filled activities attracted hundreds of fliers, the shopping spree gripped many. Commenting on completion of 10 successful years of the India�s biggest and the busiest Delhi Airport, Mr. Srinivas Bommidala, Managing Director- DIAL, said, �This journey has been momentous and the team had to overcome significant challenges to be recognised as a world-class airport. Over the last 10 years, DIAL, as the airport developer, has achieved numerous milestones in the history of Indian aviation. The airport has recorded substantial improvement after the GMR led consortium took over the operations in 2006. In 2007, airport was ranked 101 out of 125 airports in the world in terms of ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ). From this very low position, DIAL has made rapid progress over the years in enhancing the IGI Airport�s service quality, which has resulted in steady improvement in its rankings. In 2011, the airport had achieved the position of world�s number 2 in its category, which it retained for three consecutive years till 2013. In 2014 it stepped up its position to world�s no. 1 rank in the 25-40 MPPA category and retained the rank in 2015 with a score of 4.96 in ACI ASQ survey on a scale of 1 to 5. About DIAL Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd (DIAL) is a joint venture company; comprising the GMR Group, Airports Authority of India and Fraport.
