Election dates for West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, Puducherry being announced

downloadTahlka news Bureau, New Delhi : Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi announcing dates for Assembly elections in five States. New voters can be enrolled until 10 days from the last date of nomination, Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi said in New Delhi. The Election Commission will be setting up special polling station at leprosy treatment centres this time.

All polling stations in West Bengal and Assam will be covered by Central police forces.

Every district will have five central observers to monitor action against criminal elements for peaceful election, polling stations.

All-women polling stations will be set up in these five states.

The Election Commission has asked officials linked to poll-work should declare whether any of their relatives are contesting in polls.

Model code of conduct comes with immediate effect.

Assam��elections to be held in 2 phases, 1st phase to include 65 constituencies,date of polling are�April 4, 2016 and April 11, 2016.

West Bengal Elections to be conducted in 6 phases, polling of�April 4, 11 April, April 17, �April 21, �April 25, �April 30, May 5.

Kerala polls to happen in one phase, dates of polling is 16th May.

Tamil Nadu assembly elections will be held in one phase,date of polling is 16th May.

Puducherry poll to take place in one phase,date of polling is 16th May.

Counting of votes for all states will be held on 19th May.
