New Delhi: Congress has became the first party who is demanding ban on EVM (Electronic Voting Machines) on Wednesday, later AAP leader and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had asked Election Commission to release the devices for investigation into tampering allegations after questioning over BJP election win in Uttar pradesh.
After the debate in Rajya Sabha over the use of EVM opposition leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said " EVM should be stopped right now. In the upcoming civic polls of Delhi, assembly polls in Gujarat and other states EVMs should not be used."
After winning UP assembly election with clean sweep the opposition parties are raising allegation on the EVM's. The House was adjourned briefly after amid protests.
Samajwadi Party Naresh Agarwal said " If there is a programming in the chip, the BJP will win." "If there is a programming in the chip, the BJP will win."
"There is no logic behind these allegations. EVMs were used in Bihar, in 2004 and 2009 Lok Sabha polls. When SP won in UP, the votes were casted in the same EVMs," said Naqvi.
Rejecting all the allegation Election Commission said the system of EVM's are tamperproof asked AAP to check its ita poll performance in Punjab rather than blaming EVMs after the comment of Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders.
