Lucknow:In an update, firing has been resumed between the Anti-Terrorist Squad and the two ISIS operatives hiding inside a house in Lucknow's Thakurganj locality. Uttar Pradesh police and security forces have circled the area, smoke and chille pepper bombs were fired lately to smoke them out.
Police have since coordinated off the area in the colony and asked people to stay indoors. Some adjacent have been asked to vacate as well. With the operation continuing into the night, top-level equipment like night vision glasses,ambulances, fire brigades and additional security reinforcements have been summoned.
The Center has also sounded an alert across the country in the wake of a suspected terrorist, have possible links to a blast in Madhya Pradesh, hiding in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.
"We are alert. We have sounded an alert all over the country," Union Minister of State for Home, Hansraj Ahir said. "Terrorist do not have any ideology and create disturbances whenever they get a chance. The police is on the job to nab such elements," he said.
