Tahlka news Bureau, Agra:��A teenage Hindu-Muslim couple set themselves ablaze as their families objected to their alleged relationship. The couple locked themselves in a room during the wee hours of Saturday and set the room on fire. Their bodies were locked in a tight embrace, said the police. Sonu Mohammad and Sheelam Kumari, studied in the same school. Mohammad, who was a Class 10 student and Sheelam, a year junior to him, fell for each other. However, their families objected to their relationship as the duo hailed from two different communities. It was on May 9, Sheelam was forcefully married to a man from Kuberpur in Etmadpur. It was on Friday evening, around 7.30pm, Sheelam came from Kuberpur and around 4.30 am, she was found dead along with Sonu in his room. It was Sonu's younger brother who first saw the flames coming out of Sonu's room around 5 am. His family rushed towards the room and saw the charred bodies of the two. The police came after an hour and broke the wall of the room. Sadar kotwali station officer Dharmendar Chauhan said, "It seems a case of suicide. Families of both the victims have refused to lodge any complaint though we have sent the bodies for post-mortem.
