New Delhi: Two dead and 3 injured after a car ran over people sleeping on a footpath in New Delhi kahmiri gate area. The car driver was identified as a class 12th student who was driving the Hyundai i20 at 5:45 am early morning today, the driver is apprehended by the police. Although its not clear whether the boy was drunken or not and the age of driver is being verified.
According to early information, the driver, who has been identified as one Samar Chugh, recently turned major on April 15. Samar, a student of DPS, Mathura, and is the son of a businessman.
Samar, a Model Town resident, was accompanied by two of his friends, including one named Ujjwal, whose father owns the i20 car that was involved in the accident. The three boys initially tried to flee, but were nabbed by Delhi Police.
Cops later detained Samar and are likely to invoke Indian Penal Code section 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
The owner of the car Ujjwal's father is likely to be booked as well.
