5 Pakistani soldiers dead in retaliatory firing over ceasefire violation

Srinagar: The India Army in a retaliatory mission to discriminate killed five Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed and six were injured.
Pakistani foreign officer had summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh over the alleged LoC firing.


India retaliated after Pakistan violated the ceasfire along the Line of Control in Nowshera and Krishna Ghati sectors. One civilian GREF labour was killed, while two others, including a BSF head constable, were injured in the ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army on the Indian side.


The Pakistan Army fired small arms, automatics and mortars along the LoC in the two sectors. The Indian Army posts were retaliating strongly and effectively.



The ceasefire comes after the Indian Army released a video clip of destroying Pakistani posts along the LoC in the Nowshera sector of Kashmir. The video shows Pakistani posts being destroyed by the shelling of Indian army.


Indian Army Major General Ashok Narula had said punitive fire assaults are being undertaken across the Line of Control. The senior officer had also accused the Pakistan army of providing support to armed infiltrators. "We want peace and tranquility," Narula had said. According to the Army, the operation was conducted on May 9. Weapons used in the operation were rocket launcher, anti-tank guided missiles, automated launchers, and recoilless guns, sources said.



However, Pakistan remained in denial mode. A press release issue in Pakistan said, "Indian claims of destroying Pakistan Army posts in Nowshera Sector is totally baseless and misleading. On the contrary, Indian Army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation including heavy mortar and artillery fire on civil resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation including heavy mortar and artillery fir on civil population in Bhimaber Sector on May 13, which resulted in civilian casualties and damaged infrastructure."


Pakistan has been violating ceasefire for the past few months.
