New Delhi: Looks like Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi is taking notes from Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, by deciding to cancel public holidays marketing the birth or death anniversaries of eminent personalities.
* Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday issued instructions to chief secretary to cancel holidays on birth or death anniversaries of eminent personalities.
* The AAP government praised the Yogi Adityanath government in UP said, "The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a good initiative in this matter. We should always be ready to learn from other states."
* Earlier this week the UP government cancelled 15 public holidays, most of which were declared by the previous Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) government for vote bank politics.
