Chhatttisgarh: As Sniffer Dogs plays very vital role in rescue operation by CRPF. On Saturday a sniffer dog dies in Chhatttisgarh Bijapur district when a bomb planted by Maoists went off.
The Incident took place when a Road Opening Party of CRF's of 170th Battalion was returning to its camp after a combing operation in Modakpal Police station area.
2 km away from the camp, the canine names Cracker, sniffed a pressure IED ( improvised explosive device). The dog got triggered due to some movement during sniffing and exploded, killed the canine.
Cracker handler, constable B Bhanu Prakash Reddy also receives some minor injuries in his hand. Cracker was a Belgian Shepherd (Malinois) breed dog, and was introduce into the CRPF battalion in December 2015.
