"Time has come. Pressure should now be mounted on Pakistan," Agha said.
NEW DELHI : After the encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district ended on Tuesday morning, Defence Expert Qamar Agha stressed on the importance of carrying out more surgical strikes in Pakistan, asking to further persuade the latter for a peaceful settlement.
"'Kashmir is an integral part of India and Pakistan has occupied a part of it. And we want a peaceful settlement of the dispute, a peaceful transfer of this territory. Time has come. Pressure should now be mounted on Pakistan," Agha said.
Agha claimed that Pakistan is breaking the international norms, since this kind of 'proxy war' is deemed as unacceptable from a legal perspective. And it is time that India took a firm stand against this.
"This has been going on for quite some time. If you look at the details, a number of army personnel have died in these encounters. These militants are coming from across the border and trained, funded and sent across by Pakistan Military establishments. The India Government should hold establishments responsible for these kinds of attacks," said Agha.
Three army personnel were martyred in an encounter on Tuesday morning , that took place in the Hajin area of Bandipora district Jammu and Kashmir. One LeT terrorist was killed and Indian Army officers recovered arms and ammunitions from the encounter site.
