New Delh: Aparna Klalra, a Delhi-based freelance journalist is facing a life and death situation after being brutally thrashed by an unidentified person on Wednesday.
Aparna, a 45 year-old freelance journalist was hit by a sharp object in Noth-western Delhi's Ashok Vihar area, while she was out for a evening walk in the park. She has been admitted to Fortis Hospital where her condition is stated to be crucial due to multiple brain injuries.
Aparnal Kalra's uncle HC Bhatia said that she has undergone surgery and also revealed that some part of her skull is missing. "She is critical as she has received multiple injuries to her brain nerves," he said.
Police have registered an attempt to murder case but are yet to confirm the identity of the assailant.
While, DCP Milind Dumber confirmed that the journalist was attacked while on her way to the park. "We are making efforts to track down the attackers. She is now recuperating," he said.
Kalra lived with her family in Ashok Vihar Phrase 3, in Delhi. She walking towards Prince Hut park, a park near close by, around 6:15pm. Her uncle said that, Aparna's sister received a call at around 7:30pm from the police station saying that she is admitted to the Deep Chand hospital following several brain injuries
Police found her lying on the ground unconsciously and bleeding from her head and nose. Considering the injuries, she was later moved to Fortis Hospital.
