New Delhi: A Delhi Court on Monday summoned the news channel Republic TV's Aranab Goswami for allegedly "calling Tharoors "name" and holding him "guilty" on live television .Two days before Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that he had filed a defamation case against the Arnab Gowswami.
The court have asked for a report on the matter, and directed Gowsawami "could not draw conclusions and most certainly couldn't call him names and hold him guilty on his channel"
Gowaswami's council Sandeep Sethi said that he would ask his client to be "restrained" and also not call Tharoor names.
The next hearing has been listed on August 16, by the court.
Goswami's Republic TV recently in a report released tapes of conversation between on of their reports and Tharoor's assistant Narayan. The conversation related to the night of Sunanda Tharoor's death in which Narayan tells suggested that Sunanda and Shashi Tharoor had a fierce fight.
While, Tharoor objecting on the report and termed it an attempt to gain attention. "Exasperating farrago of distortions. Misrepresentations and outright lies being broadcast by an unprincipled showman masquerading as a journalist," he had tweeted.
