New Delhi: The Jammu and Kashmir government-led by Mehbooba Mufti transferred over 160 kanals land to Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurved Liminted on at Vijaypur in Sambha district of the sate on Thursday.
"Over 160 kanals of land was yesterday (on Thursday) allotted to Patanjali to set up its unit in the state," a news agency reported.
Quoting source, United News of India (UNI) said that the land transfer case was pending at civil secretariat for the last two months following some legal formalities.
"The official orders of allotment were issued yesterday (Thursday)," it said.
While opposition criticising the move has accused the government of having a tie up with the company, saying the allotted land was 'favor to RSS'.
"It is Mehbooba Mufti's favor to Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sang (RSS). Ram Madhav (BJP general secretary) stands for both RSS and the saffron party," National Conference spokesperson Jundaid Matoo siad.
Maharashtra state government allotted more than 600 acres last year to the Patanjali for selling up an orange processing plant and units for its Ayurveda products.
