Lucknow: The Lucknow High Court suspended the senior judge Om Prakash Misha for who granted bail to rape accused Samajawadi Party minister Gayatri Prajapati. The Lucknow bench of the court also canceled the granted to Gayatri Praujapati.
The court has also ordered a departmental inquiry against Additional Sessions Judge Om Prakash Mishra, and a report will be submitted by Sunday.
Mishra who granted bail to Prajapati on April 25, and was set to retire on April 30.
The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Friday stayed the bail given the former Uttar Pradesh minister Gayatri Prajapati in a rape case by local court.
Prajapati was arrested in connection with a case of an alleged sexually assault of a minor girl, was released from the district jail in Lucknow earlier on Wednesday.
He was earlier granted bail by a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court, Lucknow.
Two associates of Parajapati, Vikas Varma and Pintu Singh were also given bail. The court asked them to pay Rs 1 lakh each and a personal bond of same as a condition of bail.
Prajapati was arrested on March 15 from the Aashiyana area in Lucknow by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Forces (STF).
He was also accused of allegedly raping the girl' mother, evaded his arrest for nearly a month before he was arrested.
Earlier in February, a police complaint was filed against the former minister and six others in the case following the Supreme Courts order.
The Uttar Pradesh Police had also filed a non-bailable warrant against the former minister and six others.
