LUCKNOW: Uttat Pradesh government today announced to raise money assistance given to poor and disabled and senior citizens under Indra Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (INGDPS) from Rs 300 to Rs 500 per month for during a meeting of Council of Ministers in Lok Bhawan here today headed by Chief Minister Yogi Aditynlath.
The Indra Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (INGDPS) run by the Indian government that grants funds from the Central government scheme which aims at ensuring minimum national standard for social assistance to the old aged and the additional amount raised by the state government.
The Uttar Pradesh government took the decision to increase the money in the pension scheme for the handicapped keeping in mind the rising inflation in the country.
However, there has been no increase in the scheme for the disabled, since last 10 years.
During the FY 2016-17, a total of 8,8300 citizens within 157 division of the state have been benefited from the founds of Rs 321.53 crores through this scheme. With the increase in the handicapped. The state government have increasing in Pension scheme for Indra Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS) adding an estimated amount of Rs 22 crore for the assistance of disabled and old aged citizens.
